The Rantings of EVA: Nothing to rant, so much to rave about

“Still Holding On” and “Infrared” by The Rantings of EVA have recently made it to the top 10 in charts in the Alternative Rock genre of Garageband.com, a site where music lovers can hang out, listen and review songs at the same time.

I recently stumbled upon this site and moi, eager to explore new sounds, promptly created my account (search for me, I’m seventhmichiko!)

The Rantings of EVA is from Atlanta, Georgia. Aside from that meager fact, I know nothing about them yet. I like Still Holding On than Infrared at the moment, and this line just keeps floating about my head: “I’m still holding on / To everything’s that gone.”

I need their lyrics and I can’t find any yet… I guess I’ll just have to listen to it more. Sigh. Help?

Hide and Seek – Imogen Heap

“…ransom notes keep falling out your mouth
midsweet talk, newspaper word cut outs
speak no feeling
no, i don’t believe you
you don’t care a bit
 …”

where are we?
what the hell is going on?
the dust has only just begun to form
crop circles in the carpet
sinking, feeling … continue reading this entry.

The Suffering – Coheed and Cambria

Is there a word or right to say
Even in this old fashioned way?
Go make your move, girl
I’m not coming home

Would things have changed if I could’ve stayed?
Would you have loved me either way?
Dressed to the blues
Day to day with my collar up … continue reading this entry.

How to Save a Life – The Fray

Step one you say we need to talk
He walks you say sit down it’s just a talk
He smiles politely back at you
You stare politely right on through
Some sort of window to your right
As he goes left and you stay right
Between the lines of fear and blame
And you begin to wonder why you came

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life … continue reading this entry.

Name – Goo Goo Dolls

“Scars are souvenirs you never lose”
Name,
Goo Goo Dolls

And even though the moment passed me by
I still can’t turn away
Cause all the dreams you never thought you’d lose
Got tossed along the way
And letters that you never meant to send
Get lost or thrown away

And now we’re grown up orphans
That never knew their names
We don’t belong to no one
That’s a shame
But if you could hide beside me
Maybe for a while
And I won’t tell no one your name … continue reading this entry.

The Chronicles of Life and Death – Good Charlotte

Rumor Mill: Benji and Joel Madden have been reported to team with Marvin Scott Jarett to produce youth-oriented films. The production fit, Fast Future Films, is said to have been working already on Valley of the Damned, a thriller story set in Phoenix where a brother and sister find a body of another teenager. One of the Maddens will star in the film, while Jarett will direct the film.

“And where do you go with no destination, no maps to guide you.
Wouldn’t you know that it doesn’t matter, we all end up the same…”

–The Chronicles of Life and Death, Good Charlotte

You come in cold,
You’re covered in blood.
They’re all so happy you’ve arrived.
The doctor cuts your cord.
He hands you to your mom.
She sets you free into this life.
And where do you go with no destination, no maps to guide you.
Wouldn’t you know that it doesn’t matter, we all end up the same.

Hands Down – Dashboard Confessional

Breathe in for luck,
breathe in so deep,
this air is blessed,
you share with me.
This night is wild,
so calm and dull,
these hearts they race,
from self control.
Your legs are smooth,
as they graze mine,
we’re doing fine,
we’re doing nothing at all.

My hopes are so high, that your kiss might kill me.
So won’t you kill me, so I die happy.
My heart is yours to fill or burst,
to break or bury, or wear as jewelery,
which ever you prefer.

Champagne for My Real Friends, Real Pain for My Sham Friends – Fall Out Boy

From Under the Cork TreeYou are a getaway car
   – a rush of blood to the head
But me, I’m just the covers
   on top of your bed
You steer away in a rear view mirror
   – you make my head swim
I keep you warm and won’t ask you
   where you’ve been

With your backless black dress
   soaked to the skin
When it’s said and done
   they’re all scrambling
And we’re friends, yeah we’re friends
Just because we move units

Strike us like matches, cause everyone deserves the flames

Up dharma Down later, then Markus and the Electric Fan Boy tomorrow!

Here’s a quick post! Ean, Armi, Paul and Carlos

I prayed that I would not be sick today, just so I could watch Up dharma Down at Megamall–an event by BURN Magazine, the music mag from Hinge Inquirer Publications. I had a slight fever yesterday and I woke up this morning still feeling a little off. But no, sick or not, I’m off to Megamall to finally hear them perform live. >:) I shall post the lryics of Pag-Agos, Maybe, and Oo soon.

Hmm. I finally found a name for this character who has been lingering on my mind since summer of last year: Markus. I’ve thought about this story when the office of the company I am working for was still in Cityland Herrera Tower. The walls of our office is painted bright orange. Yes, bright orange. I don’t think I’ve ever managed to nod my head off while working.

After I’ve posted Stella: Version 1.1, Markus’ character grunted at me and poked me with a walking stick, saying it was now his turn. So tomorrow, I’ll be posting another new story: Markus and the Electric Fan Boy

Electric Fan BoyPrologue preview: Markus is a newly-grad who just got hired at a publishing company as a graphic artist. He’s often silent, speaking only when needed. But when he has something to say–it was brutally honest that people veer away from his serious demeanor. But then he senses something odd about his workplace: he always felt watched–extremely watched–by none other than a vintage electric fan. Seriousness will be a far-fetched notion thereafter.

The Ghost of You – My Chemical Romance

I never said I’d lie and wait forever
If I died, we’d be together
I can’t always just forget her
But she could try

At the end of the world
Or the last thing I see
You are
Never coming home
Never coming home
Could I? Should I?
And all the things that you never ever told me
And all the smiles that are ever ever…

Musings on A Restless Day

“Someday you’ll be loved like you never have known/
and the memories of me will seem more like bad dreams/
Just a series of blurs: like I never occurred.”

— by Death Cab for Cutie, which I copy-pasted from Burn Magazine’s blogsite.

Change is good, I once so said. Pain is good, I also once claimed. It must have been really painful to just become a “someone from the past”—forgotten like an old school book, gathering dust. A school book that you once sought to solve and unravel some life’s mysteries.

“Never let someone be your priority, while allowing yourself to be their option.”
— from Rhea.

My dear, the message struck a very sensitive chord. My body hummed when I read it. Can you still hear the echoes of the after-effect?

Like earth, know your balance. … continue reading this entry.
